These spiritual arrangements, many with vocal or instrumental solos, are very lovely and not overdone. The St Jacob’s Chamber Choir may not always sound idiomatically correct, but they perform with spirit and magnificent ensemble singing. The soloists are first-rate. I loved Anders Paulsson’s soprano sax blueslike descants in many of selections. Conductor Gary Graden also sing sings a delightful Ain’t Got Time to Die. The sound is superb: rich, detailed, wide-ranging.

I thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful disc and recommend it highly to anyone who loves this repertoire or fine choral singing in general.
